Newly appointed Santa Fe softball head coach Lindsay Fico completed the hiring of her staff with the addition of Cara Parker. Parker will be entering her second season with the Saints, serving as an assistant coach while working primarily with hitters and infield. Saints finished the 2018 season with a .279 batting average and .358 on base percentage. As a recent graduate of Appalachian State, Parker aspires to inspire and mold young ladies through the game of softball.
Parker was a four-year starter at Appalachian State University, where she was selected All Southern-Conference team as a Freshman in the 2014 season. Parker finished her career as a Mountaineer placing top 10 in nearly all offensive categories, including batting average, homeruns, and runs batted ins. Parker posted a .981 career fielding percentage while splitting her time at App State between short stop and 2nd base. She graduated from Appalachian State in 2017 with her Bachelor of Science in Education.
Upon graduating, Parker has stayed connected in the softball world through giving softball lessons and mentoring student athletes on the recruiting process.
