Baseball Hosts South Florida State on Feb. 7 at Noon and 2:30pm

Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe will host their second double header of the season on Saturday, February 7 when they welcome South Florida State College to SF Field.  First pitch is scheduled for noon.  Freshman pitchers Trent Johnson and Clint Duke are expected to start on the hill.

South Florida, coaches by former Saint Rick Hitt (1985 World Series team) has started the season off on the right foot, going 4-1 through their first five games.  The Saints have been even more effective, winning their first four games by a combined 16-2.  The pitching staff carries a 0.86 ERA and have 42 strikeouts compared with just eight walks.

The Saints offense is hitting .314, led by freshman Jared Shouppe's .476 average (7-for-15).  SF currently has eight layers hitting .333 or better.
