Gainesville, FL – Jack Hall, a member of the 2013 Santa Fe Athletics Hall of Fame class and former women's tennis coach, passed away on Monday.  Hall was inducted as a part of the second ever Hall of Fame class for SF athletics, and returned in 2015 to support former tennis star Darian Wright's induction.

Coach Hall recorded a 216-86 overall record as the head coach of the Santa Fe women's tennis team before the program was dropped in 1992.  His teams won the State Championship in 1989, 1990 and 1991 and he was the Region Coach of the Year four times.  The 1991 team had the program's highest ever national finish, coming in fourth.  Before coaching at Santa Fe, Coach Hall was the head track and field coach and assistant football coach at the Citadel (1960-65), assistant football coach at Duke University (1966-1968), assistant football coach at the University of Tennessee (1969), assistant football coach at the University of Florida (1970-78) and an assistant coach with the New York Jets (1979-80).  In 2007 he was inducted into the Citadel Athletics Hall of Fame.

"Jack was an icon amongst coaches at many different levels", said SF Athletics Director Jim Keites.  "He inspired many people and was a great teacher. He will be missed."
