Lakeland, FL – The FCSAA #1 Santa Fe Saints (40-7) won in dramatic fashion on Wednesday morning, defeating #2 Chipola College 10-9 on a walk off homerun by Hugo Valdes in the bottom of the ninth. Valdes one upped himself after tying the game in the seventh with a solo shot over the batting cages in right field.

The games was scheduled to take place on Tuesday night, but after 1.1 innings was suspended due to lightning and heavy rain. The game continued on Wednesday morning at 9:00 AM and Matt Allen took the first pitch of his at bat over the left field fence scoring Tyler Kinney to tie the game at 2-2.
Allen plated two more later in the game and SF built an 8-3 lead before Chipola rallied for three in the sixth and three more in the seventh to take a 9-8 lead.
Valdes quickly tied the game, hitting a lead off homerun in the bottom of the seventh, and two innings later played the hero for the second game in a row with a deep blast out in to the street beyond the right field fence.
