Baseball Opens Fall Ball on September 21

September 21, 2015

Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints are fresh off a FCSAA State Championship in 2016, and will get things started again on Wednesday, September 21 against Hillsborough CC in Gainesville for their first Fall Ball game of the season.  The fall scrimmage season will give the coaches a chance to see every player in action before making roster decisions for the Spring 2017 regular season.

SF will be returning some key components from their championship team, including All-American closer Troy Bacon, All-Conference shortstop Brandon Hernandez, and All-Conference third baseman Stephen Smith.  Starting right fielder Kyle Phillips and starting pitcher Kyle Morton also return to bolster the Saints.  In all, Coach Johnny Wiggs brings back 12 players for another title run.

Throughout the fall the Saints will play a variety of top tier travel ball teams, as well as top JUCO programs St. John's River State College, Tallahassee CC, and the College of Central Florida, along with today's games against Hillsborough
