Saints Fall to Seminole 7-5

The Saints rallied for two runs in the ninth, but it wasn't enough as Seminole State College put a pair of 3-run innings on the board to win 7-5 in Sanford, FL Friday afternoon.

"It's hard to win in this conference when you give up two 3-run innings," said SF head coach Johnny Wiggs.

The Saints trailed 7-3 heading into the final frame when Isaiah Perry led off with a single. Two outs later Caleb Stafford was hit by a pitch and Brock Edge followed by reaching on an error that scored Perry. After a walk to Kyler Marquis, Garrett Mathes singled in Stafford, but the rally would end there.

"We made a run in the ninth, but it was a little too late," said Wiggs.

Anthony Arguelles started and went five innings for the Saints while Tyler Jones (1-2) took the loss.

Mathes and Jonathan Logsdon had two hits apiece for SF.

The Saints (24-13, 5-7 Mid-Florida Conference) will look to start another winning streak when the host Florida State College/Jacksonville Saturday at 1 p.m.
