The Santa Fe Saints tied the game in the seventh but couldn't keep the Blazers of Valdosta State off the scoreboard in the ninth losing 4-3.

"We played pretty good baseball today," said SF head coach Johnny Wiggs. "To play an NCAA Division II team on the road is great for our development as we continue to learn who we are."

Jonathan Logsdon tripled and scored on an RBI grounder by Luis Rodriguez in the first and Xavier Moronta singled in the tying run in the seventh for the Saints. Seven different Saints had safeties on the day.

Emanuel Fernandez took the loss, but Wiggs was happy with efforts out of the bullpen.

"Devin Hemenway and Mitchell Gross pitched well in relief."

The Saints (1-2) will try to even their record when they host Hillsborough CC Friday afternoon at Santa Fe with the first pitched scheduled for 3 pm.
