Nick Herndon and Jonathan Logsdon led off the first inning with back-to-back solo home runs and JC Lovelace added another in the third inning as the Saints overpowered Tallahassee Community College 9-5 Wednesday afternoon.

The Saints built a 6-2 lead after three innings and Jake Blair (2-0) pitched four strong innings of middle relief to earn the win. Rob Adams started for the Saints and went four innings, allowing three runs and striking out five. Blair allowed three hits, 0 earned runs and had six strikeouts and Emanuel Fernandez finished up with a scoreless ninth.

"Jake Blair was really good in relief today," said SF head coach Johnny Wiggs. "He keeps getting better every time out."

Meanwhile Herndon continued to hit the cover off the baseball with four more hits in five at bats. The lefthanded hitting freshman is batting .600 with 11 runs scored, seven RBI and six extra base hits out of the leadoff spot. Logsdon and Lovelace each had three hits today and Caleb Stafford was 2-for-4.

"Very happy with the way we swung the bats today, especially early" said Wiggs.

The Saints (5-2) have won four straight and will travel to Clearwater on Friday afternoon to take on St. Petersburg before return to Gainesville for a double header against South Florida State College beginning at 12 noon on Saturday.
