Saints Split Double Header with SPC

February 5, 2016

Gainesville, FL – Game one of a double heard on Friday in Gainesville was all Santa Fe, as the Saints (3-2) cruised to a 5-1 victory, punctuated by an early three run blast from freshman Gina Eller, and stellar pitching from freshman Autumn Green.  SPC turned things around in game two, and won a close one 2-1 to earn a split.

Garcia opened the scoring with a scorching line drive homerun to make it 3-0 in the early going of game one.  In the second inning, errors caught up to the Titans as SF plated two more runs for a 5-0 lead.

St. Pete managed one in the seventh, and loaded the bases, but left them stranded to finish off the Saints victory.

In game two Santa Fe couldn't get the bats going against Titans pitching, and two costly errors put them on the wrong side of a 2-1 loss.

Adrix Paradizo Ramos knocked in the lone SF run with a RBI double in the second.

Paola Flores was the tough luck loser in the circle, surrendering just one earned run on six hits.

The Saints will continue at home on Saturday against South Florida State College at 1:00 and 3:00 PM.
