Garcia and the Saints Split DH with Lake Sumter

March 10, 2016

Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints took the second half of a double header against Lake Sumter on Thursday afternoon 11-4 to split with the Lakehawks after falling 10-0 in game one.  Nothing seemed to go the Saints way in the first game, but they were quickly able to put that behind them in their 11 run, 13 hit game two performance.

Cassandra Garcia led the Santa Fe offense in game two, going 3-for-4 with four RBI.

The Saints (14-16, 1-3 MFC) mounted two comebacks in game two, rallying from a 2-0 deficit and again from a 3-2 deficit.  SF plated four runs in the fourth, three runs in the third and two more in the sixth to pull away for the seven run win.  All four runs in the fourth inning came with two outs.

Sarah Ortiz finished the game 2-for-3 with two RBI, Chelsea Malcolm was 2-for-2, and Adrix Paradiso-Ramos was 1-for-3 with a two run double.  Autumn Green picked up the win in game two.

Santa Fe will continue in MFC play on Saturday, March 12 when they host Seminole State College at 1:00 and 3:00 PM.
