Palatka, FL – The Santa Fe Saints traveled to Palatka on Saturday afternoon for a Mid-Florida Conference double header and came away with s split, dropping the first game 2-0 before winning game two 6-4.
Santa Fe had only four hits in game one, and the two Vikings runs, one in the third and another in the sixth, were enough to pick up the win.
The Saints (24-11-2, 4-2 MFC) came out swinging in the second half of the double header, with Bailee Moll blasting a solo homerun in the third to give SF their first lead of the day. SjRSC answered with a run in the third but a four run inning by Santa Fe in the fifth, capped by a two run single from Giulia Fiorentini put them ahead 5-1.
Natalia Bellinger added an insurance run with a sacrifice fly in the sixth.
The Saints will be back at home on Tuesday, March 20 against Lake Sumter State at 2:30 p.m.
