Saints Knocked out of FCSAA Tournament; Season Comes to an End

Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe women's basketball team saw their season come to an end on Thursday afternoon in Ocala in the first round of the FCSAA Tournament to Broward College.  The Seahawks pulled away down the stretch for a 66-52 win.  Broward will move on to play the nations #1 team Gulf Coast State College on Thursday in the semi-finals.
Santa Fe played a strong first half, trailing by just two points at the half to the 22-6 Seahawks.  The difference in the game came in the third quarter where the Saints were outscored 18-7 and faced a 13 point deficit heading into the final 10 minutes.
The Saints were never able to get their offense going in the fourth and fell by the final of 66-62.
Rayven Wade was the lone Saint in double figures with 13 points and 14 rebounds.  Ari Emanuel-Wright finished with eight points.
SF ends their season with a 15-14 record.
