November 9, 2015

Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints (2-0) broke a school record on Wednesday evening, scoring 125 points in a win over IMG Academy.  The previous record of 123 was set in 2007 against LSU Eunice.  The previous best for a home game was 110, scored in 1980.  The Saints have outscored their opponents by a combined 231-98 through the first two games.

Seven players scored in double figures, led by 26 from Ari Emanuel-Wright.  The Saints shot 61% from the field and made 14 of 26 three pointers, 8-of-10 for Emanuel-Wright, one off the school record of nine set by Kym Howard in 1996.

Santa Fe scored the first 12 points of the game and never looked back, leading 37-12 after the first quarter.  By half time the score had ballooned to 67-22.

The Saints stretched their lead in the third and by the end of the quarter had 99 points, well on their way to the school record for points.

Ten players in all scored, led by Emanuel-Wright's 26.  Tabitha Odabe finished with 17 points and 13 rebounds, Rayven Wade had 17 points, six assists, and five rebounds, Jaela Green scored 12, Morgan Sams 11, and Gryselle Sepulveda and Evelina Avleeva scored 10 each.

"Really proud of how unselfish we were and how we moved the ball. This is a really fun team to watch," said SF Coach Chanda Stebbins.  "We do need to work more on help side defense and continue to improve each step of the way."

The Saints will face a stiffer test on Friday, November 11 when they battle Miami Dade College in Ocala at 4:00 PM.  They will then get FCSAA #7 Northwest Florida State College on Saturday, November 12 at 2:00 PM in Ocala.
