Gainesville, FL – Miami Dade played nearly flawlessly on Sunday afternoon, defeating the Santa Fe Saints in straight sets to claim their sixteenth FCSAA championship in the last 20 years, and the eighth for Head Coach Kiko Benoit.
The Santa Fe Saints (17-11) did all that they could, but the Sharks didn't seem to make any mistakes, winning 25-18, 25-13, 25-14.
Massiel Matos, named the Most Valuable Players of the Tournament, played a stellar match, making the difference on offense and defense.
Next up for the Saints is a date at the NJCAA Tournament in Casper Wyoming on November 17-19.
