Casper, WY – The Santa Fe Saints ran into a Miami Dade team that made their case for the best team in the nation on Friday in the NJCAA semifinals, as they defeated SF in three sets 25-13, 25-20, 25-17. Santa Fe, making their first ever appearance at the National Tournament will now play for third place on Saturday.
Ten service errors hurt the Saints as they stifled chances as rallies in the second and third sets. Miami took advantage of these errors and built leads that the Saints were not able to overcome.
Despite the result, the Saints fought all the way to the last point, leaving it all on the court. They will play on Saturday, November 19 in the third place game against either Polk State College or Iowa Western CC at 6:30 PM EST (4:30 PM MST).
The Sharks will play the winner of the Polk Iowa Western match for the NJCAA Championship.
