Santa Fe College Athletics formally inducted four more individuals and one team into their Hall of Fame on Saturday, September 20th, 2025.
Roderick Emanuel, Arianna Emanuel-Wright, Alonzo Hird, and Tabitha Odabe were the individual inductees, with 2016 Saints Volleyball as a team induction for their success on the court.
The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony was kickstarted by a Santa Fe Athletics Alumni meet and greet, held at Hotel Indigo on Friday, September 19th. The night consisted of many laughs, stories, and alumni of all ages coming together to recount their years at Santa Fe.
The following morning on the Northwest Campus in the E-Lyceum, with over 200 friends, family, alumni, and student-athletes in attendance, the Athletics Department welcomed the 2025 class to the Santa Fe Athletics Hall of Fame.
Following a welcome from Athletic Director Chanda Stebbins, opening remarks from Vice President of Student Affairs Dr. Naima Brown, and athletic department accolades from Communications and Game Operations Manager Jackson Matyczyk, inductees were invited on stage to receive their commemorative plaques and share a few words.
The 2016 Santa Fe Volleyball team had a historic postseason run, reaching the NJCAA National Tournament for the first time in program history. The Saints ended their season finishing #4 in the nation and collected many other national awards.
Led by Head Coach Nick Cheronis (AVCA Southeast Region Coach of the Year) the players were Caylee Cox, Amanda Torres, Meraiah Hill, Nadine Williams (first ever SF Volleyball All-American), Meghan Thomson, Sheyanne Sullivan, Kasey Valentin, Kaylee Herring, LaRija Henry, Ashton Marshall, Avarie Lewis, Courtney King, Clare Donegan, Sterling Williamson, Meagan Irish, Tina Mayberry, and Ashley Lanoue.
Arianna Emanuel-Wright (2015-2017) ended her career as one of the most decorated players from Santa Fe. In her sophomore season, Emanuel-Wright was named a Second Team All-American as well as being named All-FCSAA on the season and tournament while averaging over 20ppg. After Santa Fe, she continued her career at the University of North Florida where she became the first player in program history to be named to the ASUN All-Academic Team. Additionally, she was inducted into the FCSAA Women's Basketball Hall of Fame.
Roderick "Rod" Emanuel (2007-2009) was a two time All-Conference and All-FCSAA selection, averaging over 15ppg in both seasons. Emanuel helped his team to a perfect 10-0 regular season conference championship his freshman season and conference tournament title his sophomore year, finishing 18-3 in two years for all conference games. After Santa Fe, Emanuel went on to play at Middle Tennessee State University.
Alonzo Hird (2002-2004) helped the Saints to a state tournament appearance in 2003 signed with Eastern Kentucky University to continue his playing career shortly after. Hird is second all-time with 511 total rebounds at Santa Fe and played professionally in Germany, Slovakia, and Australia before returning to Kentucky to coach high school basketball.
Tabitha Odabe (2015-2017) spent two years with Santa Fe and had very little basketball experience going into her first season. Odabe spent most of her freshman season developing into a dominant player and showed out to have a fantastic sophomore campaign. Odabe holds the record for most blocked in both a game and in a season and finished her career in the top 25 in rebounding. After Santa Fe, she transferred to Flagler College where she was 2x Peach Belt Defensive Player of the Year. Her final season, she was named team captain and earned Peach Belt Player of the Year honors.
