Gainesville, FL
Julie Fournier is currently the Founder and CEO of Basketball is Psychology, a blog she started her sophomore year at Santa Fe with the goal to make sport psychology more accessible and easier to understand for players and coaches.
Fournier spent two seasons at Santa Fe where she averaged 7.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game and was named All-Mid Florida Conference Second Team. She then transferred to Colorado Christian University where she played from 2019-2021 and earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Biblical Studies.
She then became the first ever Director of Player Development at Clemson University for their women's basketball program from 2022-2024. She assisted athletes' growth both on and off the court by helping them develop their individual brands and guide them through their college careers.
She currently lives in Chicago, Illinois and is working on her fourth book, Beyond Winning, which will release in later this fall. She has published The Art of Embracing Adversity (2020), Daily Wisdom (2021), and Becoming a Pro (2024).
Basketball is Psychology centers around the mental aspect of basketball. The mental aspect that is touched on is not plays and analytics, but how thoughts, feelings, and actions impact players and teams.
