UF Ortho Tuesday Teammate of the Week: Gator Givers
This week's Tuesday teammate of the week is the Gator Givers Club!
Gainesville, FL
Gator Givers Club is this week's Santa Fe Saints UF Health Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Tuesday Teammate of the Week!
The Gator Givers Club partnered with Santa Fe Athletics to organize and hold a Pickleball Tournament in the Santa Fe College Gymnasium.
Not only was this pickleball tournament an opportunity for students across campus to come together and enjoy an afternoon of pickleball, but the event served as a food drive fundraiser for the Santa Fe College Food Pantry.
In total, 265 cans of food were donated by participants of the tournament which was delivered to the Santa Fe Food Pantry shortly after the event concluded. Santa Fe Athletics Director Chanda Stebbins thanked the Gator Givers Club for their collaboration and willingness to serve other students while inviting the student body to enjoy Pickleball in the Gym.
UF Health Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine sponsors a "Teammate of the Week" selection from all five Santa Fe Saints sports teams. The Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC), the SF sport specific coaches, and the athletic director nominate deserving Saints for this weekly award. Teammates of the week will embody the character qualities the SAINTS (Seek, Aware, Integrity, Noble-Minded, Thankful, and Safe) emphasize and value. SF Student-Athletes who impact their team, community, classmates, and families for the better are the best candidates for this weekly award hosted by proud SF partner UF Health Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine.
