Athletics Hosts Community Gratitude Life Skills
Santa Fe Athletics welcomed keynote speaker Grant Holloway as part of their community gratitude night
Gainesville, FL
Santa Fe Athletics opened its doors to the community for its open Life Skills – Gratitude night full of food, fun, and a guest speaker. Saints' supporter Grant Holloway headlined the night as the keynote speaker addressing the crowd on a multitude of topics.
The Olympic Champion shared his story with the audience of student-athletes, coaches, and community members, and provided some of his key takeaways he has learned, and is continually learning, as he nears closer to his 30s.
Following his presentation, the floor opened to all in attendance for a question-and-answer session which provided a more personal dialogue with Holloway before names were drawn for raffle prizes. Then, the student-athletes engaged in various games around the Santa Fe Gymnasium, including pickleball, cornhole, a donut-on-a-string eating contest, and a guessing game for how many skittles were in a jar.
"It was great for our student-athletes to hear from someone like Holloway. I was glad to see how engaged they were throughout his presentation and what questions they had for him" mentions Communications and Game Operations Manager Jackson Matyczyk. "I certainly had many takeaways from what he had to say and saw many of our own student-athletes taking their own notes, something that you don't see very often."
