UF Health Ortho Teammate Selection: Palmer Walton
Palmer Walton is this week's Tuesday Teammate of the Week!
Gainesville, FL
Walton is in his first season with Santa Fe Men's Basketball in 2025-26 after taking a redshirt year during 2024-25 season. The 6'5 guard is from Gainesville, Florida and played at Buchholz High School.
The sharpshooter has played in each game this season for the Saints and is shooting 45.3 % from the field, including 43.1% from behind the 3-pt line.
Walton has stepped up as a leader and teammate for the Saints this season while also becoming a reliable playmaker on the court. His energy and vision has been noticed by his teammates and coaches alike, and had recently volunteered to work concessions during the Florida Get Down Basketball Showcase held in the SF Gym over holiday break. Walton, along with his teammates, volunteered to work concessions and as a court supervisor over multiple days. He was also able to support Buchholz and cheer them onto a 2-0 record as they were one of the teams participating in the Florida Get Down 2025 Holiday Showcase.
He is pursuing a degree in Sports Management and was named the Gainesville Sun Player of the Year and First Team All-Area prior to joining Santa Fe. He enjoys playing golf and watching football, and was a member of the 2024-25 Fall All-Saints Academic Team.
UF Health Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine sponsors a "Teammate of the Week" selection from all five Santa Fe Saints sports teams. The Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC), the SF sport specific coaches, and the athletic director nominate deserving Saints for this weekly award. Teammates of the week will embody the character qualities the SAINTS (Seek, Aware, Integrity, Noble-Minded, Thankful, and Safe) emphasize and value. SF Student-Athletes who impact their team, community, classmates, and families for the better are the best candidates for this weekly award hosted by proud SF partner UF Health Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine.
