Alumni Spotlight: Ryleigh Bennett
This week's Alumni Spotlight is Ryleigh Bennett!
Gainesville, FL
Former Santa Fe College Softball pitcher Ryleigh Bennett recently delivered a dominant performance for Campbell University. On February 28, Bennet threw a no-hitter against Rider University, leading the Campbell Fighting Camels softball to a 12–0 mercy-rule victory. In addition to keeping the Broncos hitless she nearly completed a perfect game, finishing with one walk on the day on an otherwise spotless stat sheet.
Bennett built an impressive career during her time with the Santa Fe Softball, where she played her sophomore season as a two-way player. During her time with the Saints, she earned All-Citrus Conference North Team honors and was named to the FCSAA Academic All-State Team in both seasons, while also earning Second Team All-Conference recognition before graduating in 2025.
Bennett truly shined in the circle at Santa Fe in 2025. She compiled a 12–7 record with a 2.26 ERA across 28 appearances and 19 starts. Over 105.1 innings pitched, she allowed just 34 runs and struck out 66 batters, establishing herself as a key contributor and reliable arm for a Saints team that finished 37-23 on the season. Bennett recorded 14 hits, 8 RBIs, and 14 walks and finished with a .177 batting average to go along with a .309 on-base percentage.
Now in her first season at Cambell in 2026, Bennet has appeared in eight games with five starts, posting a 2–2 record in 21.1 innings pitched. She has helped the Camels get off to a 17-14 record as they sit at 4-2 in conference play.
