Nedry Signs with the University of North Carolina at Charlotte
Robert Nedry will continue his baseball career at the UNC-Charlotte
Sophomore infielder Robert Nedry has committed to continuing his collegiate baseball career at UNC Charlotte. A native of Lighthouse Point, FL and graduate of Westminster Academy, Nedry brings elite offensive production and infield versatility to the 49ers' lineup.
Nedry began his college career at North Carolina State University, transferring to Santa Fe after one season in Raleigh. Nedry quickly became a standout player, slashing .422/.512/.670 while adding 45 RBIs and 5 home runs. Regularly anchoring the middle of the lineup with consistent power and plate discipline.
At Westminster Academy, Nedry was a decorated high school athlete, earning 2A Player of the Year honors, three Sun Sentinel First-Team selections, and two Miami Herald First-Team nods. He hit .354 across 86 games with a .444 OBP, 91 hits, 71 runs, 56 RBIs, 41 walks, and 37 stolen bases.
"Robert has made First Team All-Conference and All-State. He is a fiery competitor whose love for success has driven him to become the player he is today," Wiggs adds.
Nedry now joins a UNC Charlotte program that has shown significant improvement in the 2025 season. The 49ers boasted a 36–22 overall record and a 18–9 mark in American Athletic Conference play. Nedry will be looking to add his plate discipline and defensive efficiency to the 49ers next season.
