Sophomore catcher Carlos Garcia has committed to continue his baseball career at Georgia Gwinnett College, located in Lawrenceville, Georgia. A native of Pembroke Pines, Florida, Garcia was a standout at West Broward High School, earning All-District, Second Team All-County, and Defensive Player of the Year Honors.
He began his college career at Dyersburg State Community College, hitting .254 with one home run in 22 games, however later transferred to Santa Fe College, where he kept a .252 average with two home runs over 38 games played.
"Carlos has shown great leadership behind the plate and has proven just how much of an impact he has on this team," said Santa Fe Head Coach Johnny Wiggs.
Garcia now joins a powerhouse GGC program that has made six NAIA World Series appearances and won the 2021 national title under Head Coach Jeremy Sheetinger. The Grizzlies are coming off a 47–6 season and another CAC championship, with Garcia expected to add depth and strength behind the plate.
