Miller Commits to the University of West Georgia
Pitcher Macklin Miller has committed to continue his career at the University of West Georgia
Gainesville, FL
Sophomore Pitcher Macklin Miller has committed to the University of West Georgia to continue his academic and playing career. The 6'3" right hander is from Tampa, Florida, and Tampa Jesuit High School and will be heading north to play for the Wolves.
Miller appeared in 32 games for the Saints during his two-year career, 18 of them coming this past season. On the mound, Miller settled in as a relief pitcher and closer this season, striking out 41 batters to have an impressive 10.06 K/9 rate. Miller's best performance came against Miami Dade at home where he went 1.2 innings in relief and struck out four allowing no runs.
Miller will be joining a West Georgia team that graduated many senior arms, meaning Miller will be a valued asset on the mound next season. UWG plays in the Atlantic Sun Conference after just making the transition from Division II just a year ago.
