Saints conquer windy day with win
Santa Fe beats Lake-Sumter amid windy conditions

Akhil Nimmala hit two home runs and drove in four as Santa Fe (6-2) defeated Lake-Sumter State College 12-7 on Friday. Nimmala homered in the third and fifth innings.
The Saints' bats blistered as they collected 17 hits and in the high-scoring game. Lake-Sumter were the first to get on the board in the second inning when one run scored on a balk.
Santa Fe flipped the game on its head in the top of the third, scoring six runs on six hits to take the lead, 6-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to left field by Nimmala that drove in three. A solo home run to right field in the bottom of the third for the Lake-Sumter.
Santa Fe scored one run in the top of the fifth on a solo home run to right field by Nimmala. Three more Saints runs crossed the plate in the sixth inning to extend the lead to 10-3. Montanez laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring two runs, and Chase hit a solo home run to left field.
Pagan earned the win for Santa Fe. The hurler gave up eight hits and three runs over six innings, striking out six and walking one. Kaden Howell and Steven Joyce each appeared in relief for Santa Fe Saints.
Santa Fe amassed 17 hits in the game. Montanez, Suarez, Hayse, and Tesar each collected multiple hits for Santa Fe Saints.
