Santa Fe (14-17) falls in both games to Miami Dade () and drops the series after winning game one on Thursday.
Santa Fe's effort to come back from down five runs in the fifth inning came up just short, as they fell 8-6 to Miami Dade College on Saturday. Santa Fe closed the gap by scoring on a single, a triple, a single, and a single.
Ryan Chase collected three hits in four at bats in the loss. He singled in the third inning, singled in the fifth inning, and singled in the sixth inning.
Miami Dade opened the scoring in the first after Colmenares grounded out, scoring one run.
Joseph Calise singled to center field, which helped Santa Fe tie the game at one in the bottom of the second.
In the top of the third, Miami Dade College broke up the tie when Castro singled, scoring one run. Then a home run to right field by Mendez followed to extend the lead to 4-1.
Matthew Pagan stepped on the bump first for Santa Fe Saints. The starting pitcher surrendered seven hits and six runs (five earned) over four innings, striking out six and walking none. Santa Fe accumulated 10 hits in the game. Nimmala collected two hits in four at bats.
The Saints bats were strong against Miami Dade College in game two, but it wasn't enough as they fell 13-9. Miami Dade College collected 18 hits, while Santa Fe had eight.
Miami Dade College jumped out to the lead in the top of the third inning after Castro tripled, scoring two runs, and Mendez hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
The Saints flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fourth, scoring seven runs on five hits to take the lead, 7-5. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Hayden Montanez that drove in three.
Mendez singled down the right field line, which helped Miami Dade College tie the game at seven in the top of the sixth.

James Suarez homered to right field, which helped Santa Fe tie the game at nine in the bottom of the eighth.
In the top of the ninth, Miami Dade College broke up the tie when Fawcett singled, scoring two runs. Then a home run to left field by Areizaga followed to extend the lead to 13-9.
Kaden Howell opened the game for Santa Fe Saints. The pitcher allowed five hits and five runs over four innings, striking out two and walking one. Dylan Lovelace took the loss. The pitcher went two and one-third innings, giving up six runs on nine hits, striking out two and walking one. Fermin opened the game for Miami Dade College. The starter surrendered two hits and four runs over three and one-third innings, striking out two and walking one.
Montanez and Chase each drove in three runs for Santa Fe. Chase went 2-for-5 at the plate to lead Santa Fe in hits.
The Saints will make the return trip to Jacksonville to face FSCJ on Tuesday afternoon for a 2:00pm start. They will then get State College of Florida Manatee-Sarasota for one game on the road Thursday, followed by a doubleheader on Saturday the 28th beginning at 1:00pm.
