Young Harris Adds Petteno of SF Men's Basketball
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Josh Petteno of Santa Fe College Men's Basketball has committed to join the Young Harris Mountain Lions.
Young Harris College is located in Young Harris, Ga. The Mountain Lions compete in the NCAA Division II Peach Belt Conference, and are coached by Jeremy Currier. Currier just completed his third season with the program in 2020-2021, and the team finished with a 5-6 record.
Petteno, a 6'4" sophomore guard from Venice, Italy, appeared in 19 games for the Saints in 2020-21.
He averaged 4.2 points and 1.6 rebounds per game, and scored a season-high 14 points in a Feb. 13 matchup against Daytona State College, which included four triples.
17 of his 19 triples on the season came in Central Conference play, as he served as a threat from beyond the arc.
Petteno went to Northwest College in Wyoming during the 2019-2020 season, and attended Liceo Marco Foscarini in Italy prior to beginning his collegiate career.
The Physics major was recently selected to the NJCAA All-Academic Second Team.
Petteno joins Yaw Obeng-Mensah and DJ Henderson as the Saints' signess to four year schools.
