Douglas Stands Out for FCSAA/Region 8 Player of the Week
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Guard Bradley Douglas of Santa Fe College Men's Basketball has been selected as the FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. The FCSAA release is included below.
It is the first weekly honor of Douglas's 2021-2022 season, and he has continued to be a leader for the Saints,
The lead guard from Eustis, Fla. averaged 20.0 points, 5.0 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game for SF this past week. He also was lights out from the field, shooting 59.5 percent (22-of-37), 57.1 percent from three (8-of-14) and 80 percent from the foul line (8-of-10)
After scoring 18 points vs. Florida State College at Jacksonville in a win, he tossed in 22 points on 9-of-15 shooting at St. Petersburg followed by 20 points and six assists against Polk State. Douglas played all but 12 minutes combined in the three games, helping the Saints to a 2-1 mark in Central Conference action.
Currently, Douglas leads the team with 15.5 points and 5.1 assists per game. With five games remaining, Douglas and the Saints (19-5, 7-3 Central). are still very much in the race atop the Central Conference standings with Eastern Florida (18-7, 8-2) and Polk State (16-7, 6-2).
Up next for the Saints is an away game at Daytona State College on Wednesday, Feb. 9. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
