Abdul-Hakim Wins Second FCSAA Player of the Week
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Guard Hasan Abdul-Hakim of Santa Fe College Men's Basketball has been selected as the FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 Player of the Week for the second time this season, as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. The FCSAA release is included below.
This past week, Abdul-Hakim, from Toronto, Ontario, contributed in a variety of ways and averaged 23.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.5 steals, and 3.5 blocks per game while shooting 53.1 percent from the field in two Saints' victories.
Abdul-Hakim is a huge reason why the Saints have the opportunity for a Central Conference Championship tonight at Polk State.
No. 11 had a sizzling 23 second half points in a key win at Eastern Florida, on his way to 27 points for the game. Box Score | Recap
He then tallied 20 points and seven rebounds in an overtime win over St. Petersburg in the Saints' final home game, as SF improved to 15-0 on their home floor this season. Abdul-Hakim was a menace defensively, compiling seven steals and three blocks against the Titans. Box Score | Recap
Abdul-Hakim and the Saints will take the floor tonight with the chance to win the Central Conference with a victory at Polk State. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
Santa Fe swept the weekly awards for men's and women's basketball, with Malea Brown being honored on the women's side.
