Men's Basketball has Four Claim Central Conference Honors
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Santa Fe College men's basketball had four players receive All-Central Conference honors, as voted on by the coaches and announced Friday afternoon.
Jalen Speer and Nikolaos Noumeros were each members of the First Team, while Nasir Mann and Kordell Brown received Second Team recognition.
Jacob Crews of Daytona State was selected as the Player of the Year, while Joey Cantens, also of Daytona State, was named the Coach of the Year. The Falcons took home the Central Conference crown, after the Saints held it in the 2021-2022 season.
Jalen Speer, Central Conference First Team
- A redshirt sophomore point guard from Gainesville, who transferred to SF from FAMU.
- Played and started in 28 of the Saints' 29 games, leading the team in minutes.
- Led SF in points per game (17.3) and assists per game (6.4).
- Led the FCSAA in the assist category while statistically ranking as a Top-10 distributor in the NJCAA Division I.
- Notched double-digit scoring in 26 of his 28 contests.
- Just two rebounds shy of a triple-double against State College of Florida on Nov. 19.
- Recorded six double-doubles on the year...
- Season-high marks included 34 points against Florida Gateway (Nov. 30) and 14 assists at St. Petersburg (Feb. 18).
- Totaled 33 steals defensively...
- Hit two game-winning shots down the stretch of the season on the home floor against Eastern Florida and Polk State.

- The sophomore forward from Jihlava, Czech Republic was an all-around contributor for the Saints.
- Received his second Central Conference postseason recognition, after earning Second Team honors in 2021-2022.
- Played in and started 28 games.
- Shot an effient 49.8 percent from the floor on his way to 11.7 points per game.
- Led SF with 8.9 rebounds per game to rank No. 4 in the FCSAA.
- Dished out 3.1 assists per game as an effective distributor from the frontcourt.
- Had 17 games of double-digit scoring.
- Set a new career-high in scoring with 24 points against St. Petersburg (Feb. 1).
- Controlled a career-high 17 rebounds at Central Georgia Tech (Nov. 26).
- Amassed six double-doubles.
- Finished with 29 steals and 26 blocks defensively...

- Grabbed 6.4 rebounds per contest, joining Noumeros as the Saints' primary frontcourt duo.

- Set a new career-high scoring mark with 24 points, which he produced on three occasions and in the final game of the season, an 82-81 win over Polk.
- Matched a career-high with 13 rebounds at St. Petersburg on Jan. 14.
