Saints drop shootout vs #15 TSC
Santa Fe falls in a high scoring affair to nationally ranked Tallahassee State College
Gainesville, FL
Santa Fe (11-2) falls to #15 Tallahassee State College (15-1) by a score of 97-105 in a game where both teams stayed red hot throughout the course of the evening.
Santa Fe roared out of the gates, taking an early 21-14 over Tallahassee State College in the opening minutes of Tuesday night's matchup. Both teams could not shoot the ball better in the first half, and the Eagles took a two point edge into the half at 49-47.
A slower start to the second half cost the Saints, finding a two point deficit turn to twelve in a matter of minutes before TSC forced Head Coach John Ritzdorf's hand to call a timeout with thirteen minutes remaining in the game. The Saints did not back down, however, cutting the lead to single digits late in the game but their comeback attempt wasnt enough against the Eagles as they held on which gives Santa Fe their second loss of the season.
Moses Horne led Santa Fe with 27 points while Jahari Simmons added 19 of his own including a perfect 5-5 night at the FT line. Tre Dubois and Palmer Walton were the other two Saints in double figures with 13 and 12 respectively.
Santa Fe will take their (11-2) record with them into 2026 as they are next slated to take the court on the road to open conference play at Polk State on Saturday, January 3rd at 2:00pm.
