Santa Fe struggles to get past Daytona State Saturday

Santa Fe (16-6) beaten by Daytona State (19-5) 82-60 on Saturday in Daytona Beach.
The Saints found themselves in a twelve point disadvantage at the halftime buzzer, 39-27. A strong Daytona State team continued their ways in the second half as they outscored the Saints 33-43 in the second half. The Saints shot 33.8% as a team and above 30% from 3 but was not enough as the Falcons shot just under 50% from the field with 3 more shots.
Alex Pierre-Louis led the Saints with 16 points; Moses Horne and Tre Dubois followed with 13 and 10 respectively. Palmer Walton led the team with 7 rebounds while Harvey Wilson blocked four shots.
"Daytona was the more physical team and they were more ready to play today. They punched us early and we didn't respond or compete at the level we needed to in order to beat a top team in our conference" noted John Ritzdorf.
Santa Fe hits the road and will get a rematch with Eastern Florida State College on Wednesday night at 7:30pm. The Titans took down the Saints in a 86-73 game that was much closer than the final score.
