Nokes signs to Radford
Alex Nokes signs to play at Radford University
Gainesville, FL
Alex Nokes will be making the move to Radford University for the 2026-27 basketball season. Nokes is a 6'8 forward hailing from Pacific Palisades, California, and spent this past year season at Santa Fe. Academically, Nokes intends to pursue Sports Management as his major.
Nokes earned meaningful playing time. He appeared in 14 games, starting 7 of them and was a strong body in the paint for the Saints. Nokes was a key rebounder for the Saints, especially on the defensive end which accounted for 43 of his 59 rebounds on the year. His best single-game performance against South Georgia State College ended with 10 boards, 9 of which came on defense. Nokes was also efficient offensively, shooting 51.6% from the floor.
Off the court, Nokes made the most of the 2025-26 year in the classroom. He was named FCSAA Academic All-State award, and earned All-Saints Academic Team honors in his Fall and Spring semesters.
Nokes will be joining a Radford basketball team that is on the upswing under second-year head coach Zach Chu. The Highlanders finished 16-16 in their first year under Chu, and have plenty of potential to continue improving, especially as they bring in a strong class. Bringing his talents as a forward, Nokes will help round out a roster who will be looking to return to the big dance for the first time since 2018.
