Beasley Honored as NJCAA Division I Pitcher of the Week
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - After being recognized as the FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 Pitcher of the Week for her play from Feb. 8-Feb. 14., Cris'Deona Beasley took home NJCAA Division I Pitcher of the Week honors as well, as announced on Wednesday.
Beasley's name can now be found on this week's list of NJCAA Players of the Week at the NJCAA Player of the Week hub, which is linked below.
The sophomore from Live Oak, Fla. and Columbia High School earned two wins in the circle for the Saints on the week.
Against Hillsborough Community College in a 12-0 victory, Beasley threw the first three innings without allowing a hit and striking out five batters. She then tossed a complete game in a 5-4 win at Eastern Florida State College, conceding just three earned runs while striking out nine.
Beasley has been a key piece of the puzzle in the circle and with the bat for Santa Fe softball this season, helping the Saints win their last seven games to improve to 7-3.
Beasley and Santa Fe are preparing for a big Saturday ahead that will include three games at the Courtney Miller Tournament in Longwood, Fla. The Saints will play Pensacola State College at 11:30 a.m., Gulf Coast State College at 1:30 p.m., and Indian River State College at 4:00 p.m.
