Santa Fe Softball stays put at 6th in the latest NJCAA DI Softball rankings

Santa Fe Softball remains at #6 in the nation in this week's NJCAA DI Softball Rankings from the national office. The Saints have remained strongly inside of the Top-10 in each of the last 10 weeks.
The Saints are off of a 2-2 week which featured a sweep over Hillsborough in Tampa. The Saints dropped two to #1 Florida SouthWestern at home on Saturday with game one coming in extra innings. The Saints will play their last two sets of road games this week as they travel to #19 Seminole State for a pair on Tuesday, April 28th and then to Winter Haven, Florida to take on Polk State beginning at 1:00 Saturday, May 2nd. They then return home to play #12 Eastern Florida the following Tuesday, May 5th, at 2:00 in Gainesville which marks the final games of the regular season.
The Saints sit second in Citrus Conference play with a 24-10 record and find plenty of names atop the NJCAA and FCSAA leaderboards. Sophomore McKenzie Cox sits T-2nd in the state (10th nationally) with 16 home runs and is 7th in the state in both hits (69) and doubles (17). Molly Bender is 1st in the state in doubles with 22 and is 2nd in stolen bases with 44. She is also 5th in the state with a .552 on base percentage. In the circle, Belle Mancillas is 6th in the state with a 1.47 ERA in 128.2 innings pitched.
Santa Fe has showed their patience at the plate all season as they are top-10 nationally in drawn walks (197) and hit by pitches (41). The have stolen 166 bases which is good for 6th nationwide. Additionally, Santa Fe has been ranked in 26 the last 31 NJCAA Softball Division I Rankings.
