Santa Fe Sweeps Polk State
Miranda Murch homered twice in Game 1, three Saints hit RBI-doubles in Game 2

Santa Fe (42-12, 27-11) traveled to Winter Haven, FL on Saturday, May 2nd for a doubleheader against Polk State College (21-33, 13-25). The Saints swept the Eagles, winning Game 1 8-0 in six innings and Game 2 9-0 in five innings.
Game 1
Miranda Murch homered twice in the game, hitting a leadoff home run in the top of the fourth for the Saints' first run of the game, and a home run in the top of the sixth that scored Mckenzie Cox and put the Saints up 8-0.
Mckenzie Cox tripled in the fifth to bring home Molly Bender, and Cox scored from an error. Cox added a double in the sixth to bring home Rylie Blankenship and Bender.
Santa Fe outhit Polk 11-0, and Belle Mancillas pitched a no-hitter with seven strikeouts in six innings.
Sydney English led the team with three hits, Mckenzie Cox and Miranda Murch recorded three RBIs, and Haylee McCrea drew two walks.
Game 2
After a scoreless first three innings, the Saints erupted for seven runs in the top of the fourth. Sydney English doubled to bring home Mckenzie Cox and Miranda Murch, English scored on an error, Haylee McCrea sinlged to score Ellie Frierson, and Cox doubled to bring home McCrea, Rylie Blankenship, and Molly Bender.
The Eagles drew a four-pitch leadoff walk in the bottom of the fourth, but Morgyn Stevens was able to induce three consecutive fly outs to end the inning unscathed.
A double by McCrea scored pinch-runner Laura Pierce, and Frierson scored on a sacrifice fly by Hannah Hargrave, giving the Saints a 9-0 lead.
After giving up a leadoff single in the bottom of the fifth, Skyler Alvarez ended the game with three consecutive strikeouts.
Mckenzie Cox led the team with three hits and three RBIs, and Hannah Hargrave and Cox both stole a base.
Morgyn Stevens earned the win, giving up zero runs through four innings pitched. Skyler Alvarez ended the game with three strikeouts in one inning pitched.

#6 Santa Fe will host the #11 Eastern Florida State College Titans (40-14, 26-12) for a doubleheader in the regular season finale starting at 2:00pm. Second place in the Citrus Conference is up for grabs in this series, as the Saints have a one-game lead over the Titans.
The FCSAA Tournament will begin Tuesday, May 12th, with the schedule availabile here and on the FCSAA website after the regular season ends.
