After a career year and a NJCAA DI College World Series trip with Santa Fe College, Molly Bender will be furthering her playing career with the University of West Florida. Bender joined Santa Fe for her sophomore year after graduating from Citrus High School and playing one year at Lake Sumter State College. She intends to major in physical education.
As the primary leadoff hitter, Bender ascended to stardom both at the plate and on the field during the 2026 season. Defensively, Bender was lights out with a .991 fielding percentage.
For her performances both on the field and in the classroom, Bender took home double digit awards and honors during her time at Santa Fe. On the field, her honors included being recognized as the Citrus Conference North Player of the Year, First Team All-FCSAA, FCSAA All-Tournament Team, NFCA Second Team All-American, and a NJCAA Second Team All-American honor. In the classroom, she was recognized as a 2025-26 FCSAA Academic All-State recipient and an All-Saints Academic Team honoree during both semesters.
Taking star talent and a well-decorated resume with her, Bender will be joining the University of West Florida. The Argos went 44-14 in 2026, and included a trip to the NCAA DII South Regionals. Bender will use her offensive firepower and speed in the outfield to help UWF reach the postseason for the third straight year.
