Maxwell and McPhee Inducted into SF Student Hall of Fame
Gainesville, FL – Two players from this year’s women’s basketball team received an incredible honor recently, when they were inducted into the Santa Fe College Student Hall of Fame. Bree Maxwell has been accepted into the prestigious University of Florida School of Journalism and will likely pass on opportunities to continue playing basketball in order to attend UF. She he has been a team captain for two years and served on the Student Activities and Fees Committee, all while achieving nearly a perfect 4.0 GPA at SF.

Gainesville, FL – Two players from this year's women's basketball team received an incredible honor recently, when they were inducted into the Santa Fe College Student Hall of Fame.
Bree Maxwell has been accepted into the prestigious University of Florida School of Journalism and will likely pass on opportunities to continue playing basketball in order to attend UF. She he has been a team captain for two years and served on the Student Activities and Fees Committee, all while achieving nearly a perfect 4.0 GPA at SF.
Deja McPhee has accepted a scholarship to Kennesaw State and will start there this summer. She plans to major in pre-medicine while playing basketball, and maintaining her high GPA.
"I am so proud to have two women's basketball players in the same year chosen for this distinction," said SF Coach Chanda Stebbins. "They are the first in history of our program to be chosen for the Hall of Fame and I can't think of two better representatives for SF or SF women's basketball than these two. They have been tremendous contributors to our community efforts. Deja being local and contributing heavily to the community she grew up in through speaking engagements and volunteering. Briana Maxwell was instrumental her freshman year in helping our team become involved in the backpack program. Both are exemplary students and I am so excited to see what the future holds for each of them."
From the SF website: The Santa Fe College Hall of Fame is the highest honor bestowed upon Santa Fe students. The Hall of Fame is reserved for those students who have shown truly superior leadership and achievement through their activities and scholarship while members of the Santa Fe community. Through their involvement as student leaders, it is clear to all who encounter them that they are set apart from other outstanding student leaders as especially deserving of the unique honor. The Hall of Fame is limited to 1/10 of 1% of Santa Fe students in a given year.
Successful applicants will have demonstrated success in the classroom and have shown a commitment to better the College and the community at large. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 3.00 GPA and demonstrate specific examples of service to the college and the community. 2015 Hall of Fame inductees must be receiving a degree or certificate from Santa Fe College during 2015.
