Gainesville, FL- The Saints faced a tough oppoenent at home in the Gulf Coast State Commodores, who are ranked #2 nationally in the NJCAA.  The Commodores jumped out to a quick a ten point lead by the end of the first period in large part due to five three point field goals in the first quarter.  Along with their three point shooting, sophomore F/C Isimenme Ozzy-Momodu controlled the paint with multiple offensive and defensive rebounds.   Sophomore G/F Joey Delancy, kept the Saints within striking distance by scoring 7 points, dishing out key assists, and grabbing rebounds.  The score at the end of the first was 27-17 in favor of Gulf Coast State.

Picking up where she left off in the first quarter, Joey Delancy continued to keep the Saints afloat by scoring 9 points.  Still unable to gain control, the Saints continued to fall behind the Commodores.  The combination of strong play from Isimenme Ozzy-Momodu continued along with Alieghya Bartholemew's contribution from the outside.  They combined for a total of 18 points in the quarter.  This put the Saints in a 14 point deficit at halftime.

In the second half, the shooting woes continued for the Saints, along with rebounding struggles.  In the third quarter, Freshman G Camryn Robinson added to the Saints effort by scring 6 points, as well as 6 in the fourth, totaling 16 points off the bench.  Isimenme Ozzy-Momodu added 10 points in the third quarter putting her at a total of 26 points on the day.  It was clear that her presence inside with her timely rebounds and defensive ability was the foremost difference in the game for the Commodores.

    Coach Jackson's Comment:

"I'm proud of how our team competed today against one of the best teams, in not only the region, but nationally.  We've got some work to do, but I'm hoping this loss will help us take the next step in our growth this season."- Coach
