Since 1997 the Sharks have won 15 of the last 19 titles.  The Saints, in just their third year of existence, are making their first trip to nationals and first appearance in the title game.

Santa Fe reached the championship game by defeating Southern Conference champions Palm Beach State College and Mid-Florida Conference champions the College of Central Florida, considered by many to be the favorites coming in.

The Sharks and Saints met once this season in the final regular season game of the season just over a week ago.  MDC won in straight sets
