Saints drop at Lake Sumter
Santa Fe made the trip to Leesburg, Florida for a midweek matchup with the DII #19 Lakehawks of Lake Sumter

The Saints continued their roadtrip with a Tuesday night matchup with the DII #19 Lake Sumter Lakehawks. The Saints battled all night, but fell in four sets.
Santa Fe found themselves in an early 3-7 deficit that was extended to 7-16 by the Lakwhawk offense. The Saints rallied the score to 17-22, but the LS lad was too large as they dropped the first set 19-25.
Set two was back and fourth, with the score deadlocked 5-5. Lake Sumter extended their lead to 9-13, but not before Santa Fe strug four points in a row to trail by just one. The Lakehawks then rallied to take the 21-15 lead over Santa Fe, eventually taking the second set 25-20.
Set three was a much different story, with the Saints in control for most of the set. Ahead 9-7, the score remained close until the Saints led again 16-15. Three points in a row extended their lead to 19-16 and proved too tall for the Lakwhawks to come back from. Santa Fe wins the third set 25-19 for their first point of the night.
In set four, the Saints foun themselves behind 3-7, similarly to the first set. Lake Sumter was able to hold their lead for the reminder of the fourth set with a 25-14 win, securing the 3-1 victory. The loss drops the Saints to (8-10) overall.
The Saints continue their roadtrip as they take on Polk State Saturday, October 4th at 2:00.
