Jackson signs with the Spartans
All-Citrus Conference Pitcher of the Year Justin Jackson signs with the University of Tampa
Gainesville, FL.
Standout LHP Justin Jackson will continue his playing career at the University of Tampa, along with Santa Fe teammate Drake Harman.
The 6'3" lefty is originally from Naples, Florida, and attended Seacrest Country Day and the University of South Florida before starting at Santa Fe.
Jackson made a total of 15 appearances throughout the 2023-2024 season, boasting a state leading 11 wins and an ERA of 2.20 over 98.1 innings pitched. His 11 wins is tied for the second most in NJCAA Divison I, and his 106 strikeouts is the sixth most in the nation. Over his 98.1 innings pitched, he posted an extremely impressive WHIP of 1.10 without throwing a single wild pitch. Justin Jackson was clearly one of the top pitchers in NJCAA Division I play last season, and will hope to continue his stellar play at the University of Tampa.
The University of Tampa baseball program is currently coached by Joe Urso, who has an impressive 955-279-1 record as the Spartans head coach. They have won 8 NCAA DII national championships and have produced over 100 MLB draft picks in school history.
