Saints drop home opener
Santa Fe hosted DME Academy for their first home game of the 2025-26 season

Santa Fe (0-2) hosted DME Academy for their first home game of the 2025-26 campaign on Saturday, November 8th at 2:00. The Saints fell to DME inn a close 52-50 matchup.
From the tip to the final horn no team held a lead of more than six points as Santa Fe and DME Academy played in a very defensive game. Each team came out with a slower start than that had drawn up, with theSaints trailing 7-8 after the first quarter. Both offenses started to get rolling in the second quarter as both teams entered the locker room at halftime knotted at 20-20.
The second half was far more offensive, with the Saints taking a 33-32 advantage to the fourth quarter. DME Academy was able to use a run to build their lead to 47-41 mid way through the fouirth quarter, causing first year head coach David Lowery to use a timeout. The Saints clawed back but were unable to get he game-tying shot to go at the buzzer and fell tpo DME Academy 52-50 in a hard fought game. Claudia Ordonez Cabello led the Saints with 17 points while Aniyah Anderson added 16 points.
The Saints will take the drive north to Tallahassee on Tuesday, November 11th as they take on Tallahassee State College at 2:00pm. They return home next Saturday, November 15th at 2:00 vs Edward Waters JV.
