Gainesville, FL
Santa Fe Volleyball concluded their 2025 season with a final record of 10-15. The Saints had to navigate a tough Citrus Conference schedule as half of the conference ended 2025 ranked inside the Top-20.
The Saints found success early on in 2025, beginning the season 4-2 with wins over Indian River and Pasco-Hernando (x2) and Enterprise State. They made a road trip to Enterprise, Alabama, for a four-team tournament, going 3-1 on the weekend with wins over Pearl River (3-0), Bishop State (3-0), and Lurleen B. Wallace (3-0). Their lone loss was 3 sets to 2 vs Jones College.
Santa Fe then collected two more wins in October as they swept Polk State (3-0) and were on the right side of a 5-set thriller vs Eastern Florida (3-2). During the Polk State sweep, Kailyn Howard led the charge with 10 kills and 16 digs. Defensively, Madison Howard posted a phenomenal game with 19 digs of her own. In the win against Eastern Florida, Emily Geaquinto earned a team-leading 12 kills along with 10 digs, joining Madison Howard and Addison Mittauer, who posted 10+ digs of their own in the same game.
One of the team's strongest performances and biggest ascensions during the year was Emmy Rowland, a setter and defensive specialist. During the season, Rowland recorded 85 digs and 34 serving aces, increasing each stat from the previous season by 56 and 25, respectively. With her strong serving game, Rowland now stands 6th all-time in Santa Fe volleyball history with 34 serving aces in a season, bringing her career total to 45 and her per-game career total to 0.43.
Kailyn Howard posted another strong season with Santa Fe after a captivating freshman season. Howard posted 166 kills and 173 digs, proving her two-way presence as an outside hitter and defensive specialist. She remains atop the records in both points won (28.0) and kills (25) in a match; both happening during her first season with the Saints in 2024. Additionally, Howard was named the Dr. Portia Taylor Academic Award and the Kenny Drost Female Leader of the Year Award at the 2026 Players Choice Awards
Retaining her starting role from 2024 was sophomore outside hitter Mariana Haas, who earned 147 kills and 96 digs in 21 matches during the 2025 season. Haas posted a season-high 17.5 points against St. Johns River State College on September 22, as well as an 11-point performance that helped the Saints overcome Eastern Florida State College 3-2.
Joining the Saints for her freshman season, Emily Geaquinto made a strong impact on the team as a two-position setter and outside hitter. Geaquinto earned 151 kills and 174 digs in the 2025 campaign, proving her dual-position ability. She recorded a career-high 16.5 points in a 3-2 win against Pasco-Hernando, displaying her ability to take over the game on either side of the ball.
Playing libero and defensive specialist, Madison Howard was among the Saints who took a big leap to become leaders in the 2025 campaign. Playing in 6 more matches and 40 more sets than in 2024, Howard saw a meteoric rise in digs, recording 253 more than in her 2025 campaign and averaging 3.46 digs/set. Her defensive efforts proved valuable in multiple games, setting her own personal record with 27 against Pasco-Hernando in a 3-2 win and closing the season with 11-straight games with at least 10.
The team will carry a core group of returning players headlined by Sophie Thompson, Selena Placide, Charlotte Mongin, Sidney Saltalamacchia, and Bianca Hanks going into the 2026 season. Looking to take the next step heading into their next seasons, these players will be the new veteran leaders on Coach Coleman's roster as they turn the page entering 2026.
The Saints had seven total players commit to four-year schools to continue their careers.
